Facial Fitness Advice

Facial exercise is relatively new to the west and is a great way to work on reversing the signs of ageing. It is by far the most effective and cheapest way to have a natural face lift. They are the best way to work out the muscles and increase the tone and elasticity. Before beginning any kind of treatment, it is important to understand the anatomy of facial muscles. Unlike the other muscles in the body, facial muscles are directly attached to our skin, which is very different from the normal skeletal muscles. Facial muscles also attach the other facial muscles to our bone.

Ageing and gravity has a detrimental effect on the facial muscles and causes them to lose tone. This results in the skin starting to sag. Lifestyle plays an important part in the tone of the muscles. Unhealthy diet, addiction to toxic and addictive substances like nicotine and alcohol and dearth of rest and sleep are some of the main causes of saggy skin. This can also be attributed to the constant pull of gravity and normal agent. There is nothing than can be done about the pull of gravity but one can definitely work on slowing down the ageing process and constant facial exercises are a fantastic way help regain the natural firmness of your face.

Unfortunately, there are a number of people that assume that these exercises are useless because they do not work. This is mainly because the people that assume these exercise don’t work are probably the ones that have large cosmetic and plastic surgery clinics and have a vested interest in increasing their customer base. At the end of the day, you’re probably better off testing if these exercises work for yourself. Be warned that facial exercises and double chin exercises do not show results in days. You would need constant exercises for a couple of months before you see any results. The key is to stay consistent and you’re sure to see results.

There are specific exercises that target different facial muscles. They just take about fifteen minutes a day to perform and should be practiced consistently about thrice a week to see results. These exercise are easy and don’t take much time to perform, but in a few months, you will be extremely happy with the results. Many women all over the world swear by facial exercise and confirm that it’s the best thing they ever did.

My Andoid Phone Cost Me A Fortune

A few months back I needed to get a new mobile phone. I really wanted the new iPhone 4 but upon looking into things further I found two things I really did not like about them:

  1. The Price!
  2. The Lock Down!

By lock down I mean the attitude that seems to preveail within Apple that “they own the phone in your pocket”. Whereas, with most products and companies, when you buy a device, its yours, to do with as you please. You own it, you control it.

It seems apple do not see it that way with some of their practices, particularly the way the switch out standard screws for “special” uncommon ones when you get your battery changed!

I could rant on about this, but, I will cut a long rant short and say that I found a really cheap HTC contract using this comparison site. I went for the HTC Desire HD, not that I need HD video, I dont, but that seemed to be the best deal at the time. So, armed with my new app ready phone I was feeling pretty pleased with myself, having got a great deal on it, and being very pleased with the Android OS (HTC have done a nice job of skinning this which is why HTC Android phones have become so popular), and had a really good play with it.

Its amazing how many apps there are for Android, though, recent issues with hacking via un checked apps may hinder that going forward, which would be a shame.

Anyway, I was in app heaven, and, off to parradise on a short holiday! Great, I can take my new phone and stay up to date with everything I need to I thought.

A few weeks after getting back I got an unpleasantly sized bill for all the data transfer I had used. At first I could not fathom it, I had only used apps once or twice. I checked my FaceBook profile a couple of times, and replied to a couple of mails and that was it. I just could not figure it at first.

When I looked a little deeper it turned out it was updates and apps running in the background, like, that helpful little app that tells me its raining back home… when I am 1000 miles away, ridiculous.

I then found I could have disabled this setting if I had looked into it a little deeper, but its not an easy setting to find, buried in the bowels of the android system!

It seems Im not ther first person to fall foul of this, a lesson learned I guess, all be it an expensive one. That said, it could have been a lot worse, we were only away for a few days. Heaven knows what would have happened if I had been away for an entire month!

The problem with restaurants

The problem with going out to dinner is the cost! Sounds like a fairly obvious statement – we’d all go out all the time if it was free – but I always wonder whether I’m paying too much for a meal, although I nearly always enjoy it. Even when you go to relatively cheap places, if you want a starter, main course and a drink you’re looking at paying over £30 most of the time, which is a lot of money.

I think this is made worse because I’m such a fast eater. Usually I finish my main course in less than 15 minutes, and the starter is barely on the table before it’s finished. I always enjoy it – but I’m not sure if it’s worth the money.

Take the cinema for example. For an hour and a half’s entertainment you have to pay around £7. Going to the gym costs around £30 a month, and gives you many hours of “fun”. Buying a computer game costs around £35, and usually lasts for around 20 hours. Going out to dinner costs a full £30, and lasts around an hour and a half. When you put it that way, you don’t seem to get value for money.

With that said, I still enjoy going out to a meal more than any of the other options. I’m not known for my cooking, so it’s a real treat to be able to go out and get a high quality meal (and not have to worry about the washing up).

So, where do I recommend going for dinner? There are a huge number of places to choose from now, but I prefer to keep to the local places rather than the big chains. There are some chain restaurants that do good food, but I never think they are quite the same.

The one exception is “Jamie’s”. As you might have guessed, this is a chain of high quality restaurants owned by Jamie Oliver, and they really do serve good food. Although the price is a bit more expensive than other restaurants, it’s not prohibitively costly, so it’s fine for a one off meal.

Other good restaurants that I eat at regularly include Giraffe, TGIs (yes, it’s an annoying place, but the burgers are good) and Nandos. There are some local ones too.

Should I? Shouldn’t I?

I’ve been thinking about it for a while, but I keep going round in circles. Should I do it? Is it worth the risk? Is it too much money?

What am I talking about? Buying an iPad of course. It seems everyone has one these days, even though I can’t quite work out what the real reason for having one is. Even so, I still want one, mainly because of how good they look, but also because I think they could be the next “big thing” if they aren’t already.

I don’t just mean that the iPad could sell lots of models – it’s done that already – but I mean that tablet computing is surely going to be the way to go in the future. They are much smaller, can do pretty much everything that a netbook can and look good. They can’t replace a full keyboard on a regular laptop, but they are a direct replacement for netbooks, which are meant to be as small as possible. I know that if I had the choice between an iPad and a netbook, I’d go for the iPad, especially for travelling.

There are problems though – mainly that I don’t like Apple. I don’t want to be told how to use my device or what I can use it for. I’ll probably end up going for a tablet by a different company – maybe HP – who don’t put artificial restrictions on their hardware. I also worry that Apple will “upgrade” the iPad in the near future, when all they really do is add features that should of been in the original.

Despite the high price, lack of freedom, competition and a variety of other reasons NOT to buy the iPad, I still want one. Is that a bad thing? Probably, but there’s no denying it’s a great gadget that can perform a number of functions – and then there’s the app store which is fantastic. The only thing stopping me from getting one right now is the potential competitors that will be released soon- I think it’s best to wait and see what happens.

House Moving Nightmares

October 14th, 2010

It is well known that moving house is one of the most stressful things you can do in your life, and this post merely reinforces that perception.

I spent the last few weeks carefully packing all of my things away and labelling all of the boxes. My stuff had to be taken a few hundred miles and went to be stored free time by the removal company. Unfortunately for me this company chose to put several customers containers in the same area as one another.

I guess you have already realise what’s coming next. You see the containers were provided by the removals company, so we had all packed our stuff into the same type of boxes. When I began to receive my possessions at my new house I immediately realised there was a problem as the handwriting on some of the boxes was not my own. Somehow this removal company had managed to mix up five of my boxes with those of another customer and all of my kitchen utensils ended up being delivered to the wrong address 70 miles away.

Despite notifying the removal company straightaway they decided to collect the boxes from their other customer the following day. It never occurred to them to phone this customer on the day I told them about this problem, they assumed (wrongly of course) that they would be around the following day unpacking.

Unfortunately that was not the case, the other customer had left town for the weekend and it was a further three days before I was able to retrieve the stuff I needed for my kitchen.

On top of this I found my laptop had been damaged and a couple of pieces of glass had been broken.

Another gripe was with my telephone company, who despite having supplied the previous occupants of my new home said that the line would have to be disconnected and reconnected again. I just could not get my head around this, I was already a customer of this company as where the previous occupants of my new house, so, that should not have been any other companies involved. In fact there were no other companies involved, only with this one. Nevertheless they saw fit to press the reset button as it were terminating both my telephone and Internet connection until eventually could come out of the house and turn it back on again.

The telephone access was quickly restored, that was no big deal as I have a cell phone anyway. But my Internet access (DSL) took a further two weeks to be enabled. I never realised how much I’ve come to rely on the Internet or how much I would miss not having a high-speed access to it through my PC. I managed to keep getting e-mails through my Blackberry, but it really wasn’t the same.

Then the roof started to leak. I was particularly angry about this one as it was clear that it had been an ongoing issue which had been botched up by the previous occupants just to sell the house. So, within a few days at page roofer to come out and stop the water leaking down the bedroom wall.

Then there was the heating boiler. It turns out there is a small fault which turns the water cold periodically, usually in the middle of a shower.

Oh yes, and when my kitchen utensils to arrive the shelf in the kitchen collapse has tried to track the stuff away.

The TV reception was no good and had to pay someone else to come out to source the satellite dish out.

The list of problems I found just goes on and on, I’m not going to go on any more about it in this post, except for one final crucial that infuriating example.

I needed to use my hosepipe to wash down the path. When I came to screw the fitting (that I had just bought specially for the purpose) to the tap I found that the thread on the tap was just one or 2 mm bigger than the standard screw fittings found on those attachments. It took me a full two hours to-ing and fro-ing between different shops before I managed to find a connector that would allow me to turn my host on.

All of these issues are very petty and trivial and I feel a bit embarrassed about letting them get to me as they have, I guess it’s just the fact that all of these issues just kept coming and coming one after the other after the other period of a couple of weeks. By the end of it I just wanted my life back. Fortunately, it’s all done now and I absolutely love my new home.

It’s in a greater area, the neighbours are nice, the house gets lots of sunshine throughout the day. It’s peaceful, there is a park nearby, it is convenient for both getting out of the country and in terms of local services and shops, so all in all I shouldn’t really complain.
